Especially, photogenic places are important element of tourist attractions.
So, let us introduce some instagrammable spots in Mie Prefecture in this article.
Mie has full of photogenic places
Actually, there are lots of photogenic places in Mie.
You can see deeply indented coastlines and remote islands in Pacific Ocean area, and great forest inland area, such as Suzuka Mountains and Kii Mountains, and historical buildings.
Those places contain beautiful landscapes and buildings.
They are good photo spots.
Following five spots are only a small fraction of instagrammable spots in Mie.
Let us introduce them one by one.
First, Yokkaichi Port Building.
The observatory on 14th floor, called “Umi-Tearasu 14“.
Yokkaichi City is famous for Yokkaichi Factory Complex.
And its night view has been popular among girls who like factory views. They often visit Umi-Terasu 14 to watch beautiful factory lighting-ups.
Since the night view from there is really fantastic, Umi-Terasu 14 is known as dating spot.
You can see Suzuka Mountains and Chubu Centrair International Airport during the day.
Next is Sekijuku, Kameyama City.
This is 47th post station of the Tokaido. It has remains of old buildings of Edo Period along the street.

No3. Doi Bamboo Forest
Third one is the best kept secret spot in Mie.
That’s Doi Bamboo Forest in Owase City.
It’s 4000 square meter bamboo forest founded by Doi Family who runned the forest industry in Edo Period. They brought the bamboo from Kagoshima Prefecture.
You can find the place on Google Map, but it’s difficult to find the entrance. So please check the route carefully before you visit there.
No2. Yokoyama Observatory
Yokoyama Observatory is one of instagrammable spots in the south of Shima Peninsula.
It is located on the top of Mt. Yokoyama, 203 meters high. There are huge terrace and a coffee shop.
You can see Ago Bay from the terrace. Its deeply indented coastlines are really beautiful.
No1. Ise Grand Shrine
The last one is the symbol of Mie, Ise Grand Shrine.
It’s one of the oldest shrines in Japan, and everything such as the entrance, Isuzu River, and inner territory, is photogenic.
If you take pictures of shrine buildings, sun beams, clear water… All of them will be great pictures on Instagram.
These places are just a small part where we already visit once. There are lots more beautiful photogenic spots in Mie Prefecture.
